Your job board's pages

Your job board appears on ordinary WordPress pages. Each page holds a WP Job Portal shortcode, and the shortcode draws the dashboard, form or listing. WP Job Portal creates the main pages for you; you can edit, rename or add to them like any other page.

Page Shortcode Created
Jobseeker [wpjobportal_jobseeker_controlpanel] When you activate the plugin. It becomes the Default Page.
Register [wpjobportal_registration] On the first admin page you open after activation.
Job seeker [wpjobportal_jobseeker_controlpanel] In the setup wizard, if you choose Job Seeker Menu.
Employer [wpjobportal_employer_controlpanel] In the setup wizard, if you choose Employer Menu (Job Marketplace sites).
Newest Jobs [wpjobportal_job] In the setup wizard, if you choose Jobs Listing Menu (Careers & ATS sites).

A page is only created when no page already holds that shortcode. Because activation already creates the Jobseeker page, the wizard’s Job Seeker Menu option normally finds it and adds nothing.

With Recruit Suite active, two more pages are created the same way: Candidate Portal ([wpjobportal_candidate_portal]) and Recruiting Team ([wpjobportal_recruit_team]).

The Default Page is the main WordPress page of your job board. Links in emails and some links inside the job board point to it, and they may not work if it is not set.

  1. Go to WP Job Portal → Configurations.
  2. Open the System & Site tab.
  3. Under Site & System, choose a published page in Default Page.
  4. Select Save Changes.

The page you choose should hold a WP Job Portal shortcode. The onboarding checklist on WP Job Portal → Setup & Mode warns you if the Default Page is missing, not published, or has no WP Job Portal shortcode or block.

The pages above are enough to run the job board, because each dashboard links to the rest. You can also add your own pages for a job search, a company list, or login and registration for each role, using shortcodes such as [wpjobportal_job_search], [wpjobportal_companies], [wpjobportal_login_page], [wpjobportal_employer_registration] and [wpjobportal_jobseeker_registration].

WP Job Portal → Shortcodes lists every shortcode available on your site. See Shortcodes for their options.

  1. Go to Pages → Add New Page.
  2. Give the page a title, for example Employer.
  3. Add a Shortcode block and type the shortcode from the table above, for example [wpjobportal_employer_controlpanel].
  4. Select Publish.
  5. If this page replaces your Default Page, choose it as the Default Page as described above.

If the page is in the trash, restore it instead from Pages → Trash.

Sites that had the job listing page before 2.7.0 keep its old address, so job and company links shared before the upgrade still open.
