Changelog
The changes in each final release of the free WP Job Portal plugin, newest first, taken from the plugin’s own changelog. Release candidates and beta builds are left out; their work shipped in the final release that followed them.

New products
- Premium features are now four products - Pro, Marketplace Suite, Recruit Suite and Smart Search & Matching - in place of thirty-seven separate add-ons. Each needs only the free plugin.
- Twelve former add-ons are now part of the free plugin (see below), and Address Data is now part of Pro.
Licences and add-ons
- Added a Licences and add-ons screen. One licence key covers your whole plan; each product it covers can be installed, activated and updated from there, or all of them at once with Install all.
- Every download from the licence server is checked against the checksum published with its release before it is unpacked, including updates run from Dashboard → Updates. A file that does not match is deleted and nothing is installed.
- Products installed before a licence lapses keep working; only installs and updates stop until it is renewed.
Updating from 2.6
- Fixed the update from 2.6 ending on WordPress’s critical error screen.
- Existing sites keep their jobs page address, so job and company links shared before the update still open.
- Switching off the old Address Data add-on no longer resets the city setting the company form relies on.
- Fixed the Job Alert admin links not appearing when Pro was active.
Setting up a new site
- The setup wizard is now four steps: choose a mode, Essentials, sample data, done. Essentials asks only who can sign up, where notifications go and whether new listings go live straight away; the 25 settings the wizard used to ask all keep their defaults and stay under Configurations.
- The finish screen now says who owns the sample data and links to the sample jobs and both dashboards.
- Rebuilt the sample data to fit the site it lands on. Every site gets one hiring company with six jobs in different categories, one resume and three applications; Marketplace Suite adds two more companies and featured listings, and Pro adds a second resume. Every number on the employer and job seeker dashboards now matches the demo. Categories and cities come from your own site, the companies are fictional with example.com addresses, and their logos ship with the plugin instead of being downloaded.
- Added an Account Sign-Up setting, asked in the setup wizard and under Configurations > Registration & Login. WP Job Portal’s registration page can now be open or closed on its own instead of following WordPress’s “Anyone can register”, which is off on every new WordPress site. Existing sites keep following WordPress until the setting is changed.
- The sample data now asks who owns it: an employer and a job seeker, chosen from your users or added on the WordPress Users screen. The owner can be changed later from Setup & Mode. Sample data is no longer handed to the first employer found on the site.
- The onboarding checklist no longer counts sample companies, jobs and applications as your own.
Fixed on a fresh install
- Fixed choosing a mode in the setup wizard switching the employer area off, so employers were told “Employer is disabled by admin”.
- Fixed the registration form accepting a sign-up sent to it directly while registration was closed.
- Fixed a new employer being sent to the job seeker dashboard after registering, and visitors being sent to the wrong page, or none, after adding a job or resume. New installs no longer carry page numbers from our own demo site; each flow goes to its own page until you choose one.
- Fixed sample data that had been viewed being left behind by Clean marked sample data. Opening a sample job, company or resume counted as an edit, so on any site where the demo had been looked at, the sample jobs and companies stayed live.
- Fixed Shortlisted Jobs, Tags and Job Alert failing on a new install because their tables were not created.
- Fixed the Tags page failing when the listing could not be counted.
- Fixed the job and resume RSS feeds returning an error instead of a feed.
- Fixed a fatal error on the job form when a company had no cities.
Fixed in search and filtering
- Fixed the salary filter, which produced a database error instead of narrowing results. Job application search now filters on the job’s own salary; resume search matches a candidate’s expected salary against a minimum and maximum.
- Fixed the currency and education filters on job application search, which filtered on columns that do not exist.
- Fixed resume search by postcode failing outright. A postcode is not stored against a resume address, so the filter is ignored rather than producing an error.
- Fixed the resume Personal Information panel, which never displayed because it asked for columns the resume table does not have.
Fixed elsewhere
- Fixed the Insufficient Credits popup failing instead of offering a link to buy credits.
- Fixed a fatal error on every page of sites that use a slug prefix.
- Fixed credit balance lookups running against tables that no version of the plugin creates.
- Added saved job searches. A job seeker names a search and runs it again from Saved Searches on their dashboard; the old Saved Searches link, which led to a page that failed, now works.
- Removed several admin routes that called code which was never written, including two that could be reached with a valid request.
Also in this release
- Added a backward-compatible module-provider path hook for consolidated premium modules.
- Added a suppressible controller include boot hook so Pro can safely reuse Core controllers without duplicate rendering.
