Payment Gateways
The Payment Gateways tab connects the payment services that take money for packages and paid listings: PayPal, Stripe and WooCommerce. The tab only appears when Marketplace Suite is active.
To open it, go to WP Job Portal → Configurations and select Payment Gateways. For how the screen works, see System & Site.
PayPal
Section titled “PayPal”Configure PayPal payment gateway settings for API integration.
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Enable PayPal | Offers PayPal at checkout. | Off |
| Username | The Client ID of your PayPal REST app. The plugin uses it, with Password, to sign in to PayPal’s API. | Empty |
| Password | The Secret of your PayPal REST app. | Empty |
| Signature | Not used by the 2.7.0 checkout. | Empty |
| Logo URL | Not used by the 2.7.0 checkout. | Empty |
| Cancel URL | Not used by the 2.7.0 checkout. A cancelled payment always returns the buyer to the page they started from. | Empty |
| Notify URL | Read-only. Left over from an older integration: nothing on your site answers at this address, and you don’t need it. | — |
| Test Mode Sandbox | Sends payments to the PayPal sandbox instead of taking real money. Use sandbox credentials while it’s on. | On |
| Language | Not used by the 2.7.0 checkout. | EN |
| Merchant Email | Only used by the older IPN listener (see Subscription IPN URL). Not needed for the hosted checkout. | Empty |
| Subscription IPN URL | Read-only. The listener for PayPal’s older IPN notifications, from the billing agreements of earlier versions. The hosted checkout does not use it: PayPal subscriptions are reported by a REST webhook instead. See PayPal. | — |
Only Enable PayPal, Username, Password and Test Mode Sandbox affect PayPal payments. The Webhook ID that PayPal subscriptions need is not on this tab. It is on the Payment Method Configurations screen (admin.php?page=wpjobportal_paymentmethodconfiguration).
Stripe
Section titled “Stripe”Configure Stripe payment gateway settings.
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Stripe | Offers Stripe at checkout. | Off |
| Publishable Key | Your Stripe publishable key (it starts pk_). |
Empty |
| Secret Key | Your Stripe secret key (it starts sk_). |
Empty |
| Webhook Signing Secret | The signing secret of your Stripe webhook endpoint (it starts whsec_). Each webhook is verified with it, and webhooks are refused while it’s empty. |
Empty |
| Subscription Webhook URL | Read-only. The address to add as a webhook endpoint in Stripe. The screen asks you to subscribe it to the invoice.payment_succeeded event, then copy that endpoint’s signing secret into Webhook Signing Secret. |
— |
The same endpoint also confirms one-off purchases. Stripe Checkout sends the buyer back to your site, and the purchase is completed then, but the plugin also completes it from the checkout.session.completed event in case the buyer never comes back. Subscribe the endpoint to both events:
invoice.payment_succeeded, for subscription renewalscheckout.session.completed, for one-off purchases
WooCommerce
Section titled “WooCommerce”Use WooCommerce to handle payments.
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Enable WooCommerce | Hands checkout to WooCommerce, so people pay through your WooCommerce store and its payment methods. | Off |
