Upgrading to 2.7.0

WP Job Portal 2.7.0 replaces thirty-seven separate add-ons with four products: Pro, Marketplace Suite, Recruit Suite and Smart Search & Matching. Twelve former add-ons are now part of the free plugin. Your data stays where it is; this page explains what to do so each feature moves to its new home cleanly.

  1. Back up your database and your files, including the uploads folder where WP Job Portal keeps logos and resumes (wp-content/uploads/wpjobportaldata by default).
  2. Go to Plugins and note which WP Job Portal add-ons are active. Their folders start with wp-job-portal-.
  3. Check the requirements. Pro and Smart Search & Matching need WordPress 6.5 or later.
  4. Have your licence key from your account at wpjobportal.com ready.

Update the free plugin as usual, from Dashboard → Updates or the Plugins screen. The database changes run by themselves.

If a migration cannot finish, a notice says WP Job Portal could not complete a database migration. Existing data was left in place. Select View System Status to see which step failed, under Migration history.

Job alerts are free at weekly frequency. Daily, monthly and instant alerts, and the job alert admin tools, come with Pro. Print is free in its basic form; print templates come with Pro.

Open Licences → Licences and add-ons from the WP Job Portal side menu, activate your licence key and install the products it covers. See Install Pro and the suites.

An old add-on that is still active keeps running the feature exactly as before. The free plugin and each product leave a feature alone while its old add-on is active, so nothing runs twice. For example, Recruit Suite leaves resume actions and ratings to the old Resume Action add-on, and Smart Search & Matching leaves each AI search, suggestion or match-score feature to its old AI or Smart Matching add-on; the rest of each product runs as normal. When you deactivate the old add-on, the new product takes the feature over.

  1. Go to Plugins.
  2. Deactivate the old add-ons whose features are now in the free plugin or in a product you have installed.
  3. Check the feature still works on your site.

Settings the old add-on used are kept when you deactivate it. For example, switching off the old Address Data add-on no longer resets the city setting the company form relies on.

Once an old add-on is deactivated, you can delete it from Plugins. Older add-ons drop their database tables when deleted; WP Job Portal now stops that for any table the free plugin or another product still reads. If it keeps tables, a notice says WP Job Portal kept your data. and lists them.

Upgraded sites run in existing-site compatibility: nothing is hidden and no setting is locked. When you are ready, go to WP Job Portal → Setup & Mode and choose Careers & ATS or Job Marketplace. See Setup wizard.

  • Account Sign-Up is new in 2.7.0. Existing sites keep following WordPress’s Anyone can register until you change it under Configurations → System & Site → Registration & Login.
  • Your jobs page keeps its address, so job and company links shared before the update still open.

Open WP Job Portal → System Status and look for warnings. Older sites may be offered an InnoDB conversion for the plugin’s tables. Back up the database before you start it.
