The plugin’s tables should use the InnoDB storage engine. System Status shows whether they do and has an InnoDB conversion tool for older sites. Back up the database before you run it.
To install and update the paid products from the Licences screen, WordPress must be able to write to the plugins folder without asking for FTP details, and the site must be able to reach wpjobportal.com.
WP Job Portal uses WordPress Cron for scheduled work: job alerts, the email queue, the daily licence check and data clean-up. Job alerts run daily.
WordPress Cron only runs when someone visits the site. On a site with little traffic, or if DISABLE_WP_CRON is set, set up a real server cron. System Status shows WordPress Cron as Disabled; a real server cron is required. when it is switched off. See Cron jobs.
WP Job Portal sends every email through WordPress’s own wp_mail(). If your host does not deliver WordPress mail reliably, install an SMTP plugin; WP Job Portal mail then goes through it too.
Under Scheduled tasks and mail, System Status shows the mail mode, how many messages were accepted or rejected, and the most recent mail error. You can also switch on the Reliable notification queue there, which sends mail in small batches through WordPress Cron and retries failures.
